the glass slipper

Brent, knelt down on one knee, and took out a plastic bag inside was a blue velvet box with a white silk bow on top. He opened the box and inside was a glass slipper I took the slipper in my hands and a single tear fell from my eye and he said Karleen will you marry me? I took a deep breath, wiped the tear from my face and said yes. I looked at the bottom of the slipper and it had writing on it, it read: i luv u and want to spend the rest of my life with you.
Since then the glass slipper was passed down to each female that was born in the family. If a male was born the grand mother would keep the shoe until the next female was born, if the grand mother died before the next female was born the slipper would be given to the youngest male and he would give it to the one who he married on their second anniversary.
94 years passed and the slipper was kept in mint condition and had many stories from its passed and some soon to have in the future. It was now the year 2008, and the next female who was born received the slipper was nicknamed Serena and her full name was Serenity meaning free of unpleasant change.
As time passed she grew into a very accomplished young woman, she danced at Julliard, and she finished college at Princeton, and married a handsome young man named Andrew. Serena and Andrew were happily married for 18 years and had two children one girl and one boy. The girls name was Madison, and the boys name was Alexander. It came time for the tradition to be continued and the slipper to be passed down to Madison, but the slipper was nowhere to be found. This frightened the mother. She bit her nails and thought that maybe she had misplaced it she went up to the attic so deep in thought that she forgot to duck under the doorsill that was low down, and she hit her head and fell to the floor unconscious. A few hours later she got up and found herself in a strange place. She walked outside and asked a woman that she found walking into a store what year it was. 1913 she replied happy to help what she thought to be a mentally ill person because of the way she was dressed. 1913 Serena thought. Hmmm….. I remember when I was younger telling me a story about her great great great great great great great great great great great etc. grandmother and her glass slipper. She remembered her mother telling her that the year when this story took place was in the year 1913.serena thought that maybe she could find her slipper here. She walked around and looked everywhere she could think of but did not find her slipper. She ended up running into the same woman as she did before. However, this time the woman asked her if she was mentally ill. No chuckled Serena, but I am poor and have nowhere to go. Serena thought quickly on her toes. So the woman would feel touched by her story and give her a place to stay while she tried to figure out where her glass slipper was. The woman let her stay in the attic of her house. When they arrived at the woman’s house she escorted her to the attic and told her dinner would be ready in 30 minutes, and not to be late. While Serena was up there she noticed something very familiar about this woman’s attic but she could not quiet put her finger on it. Since this attic was so familiar she decided to look around to see if the slipper was there. However, it was not. A fact Serena felt to be very sad. In thirty minutes Serena made her way down stairs so she could eat her dinner. She sat down at the table and ate the dinner that included chicken, rice, and beans. Serena looked around and found a picture of a man on an old wooden table. Who is this she asked the woman. You should not ask questions about people’s private life it is very rude she replied. The telephone rang and the woman answered it and said hello. Hi said a muffled deep male voice. Oh hi Brent. She said to him. I have a surprise for you tomorrow, can you meet me under the big oak at 7:00am. Sure sweetie she said to him. Serena finished her dinner and was quick to get up to put her dish away, but the woman stopped her and told her that she would do it.the woman took the plate and put it in the sink to wash so what is your name? asked the woman. Serena. She replied. And yours? Serena asked. Oh I cant tell u that because of security reasons.
Serena stood up pushed her chair in and headed back up to the attic so she could get some rest and follow the woman to the big oak in the morning.
In the morning Serena had woke up nice and early at 6:50am. She left the house and hid at the side behind a rose bush. 5 minutes later the woman came out side careful not to make to much noise because she thought that Serena was still asleep. The woman walked across the street to a park and Serena followed her all the way to a tree that was so huge that it had to be the big oak that the man was talking about on the phone. She hid behind another bush and waited for about another 5 minutes until a man showed up. Serena squinted her eyes and could tell it was the male from the picture. Brent, how are you on this very fine morning? Asked the woman. I am great and you Karleen. I am good. Brent had a basket and inside was a picnic blanket and food. They sat down and ate .they exchanged a few words, and laughs but Serena could not hear what they were saying. After they were done Brent and Karleen cleaned up their mess. After that Brent told a joke and Karleen laughed. Then, Brent, knelt down on one knee, and took out a plastic bag inside was a blue velvet box with a white silk bow on top. He opened the box and inside was a glass slipper I took the slipper in my hands and a single tear fell from my eye and he said Karleen will you marry me? I took a deep breath, wiped the tear from my face and said yes. After this happened Serena went back to the Karleens house and up to the attic. She had remembered this story her mother had told it to her. Serena realized that Karleen was the one who had gotten the family artifact first and she was Serena’s great great great great great great great great great great etc. grandmother. Karleen arrived home 15 minutes later and found that Serena had started making breakfast. Hello Karleen said Serena. He….. began Karleen without finishing her sentence. How do you know my name??? Karleen asked. Oh I cant tell you for security reasons. Replied Serena. Ok smart allic, you had better tell me how you found out my name or your gonna have to leave. I followed you to the park and Brent said your name, and your not gonna believe me when I tell you this but I think you’re my great great great etc. grand mother. What you are crazy I knew it how could I be your great grand mother if I do not even have kids? It is hard to explain but I am looking for a glass slipper because where I come from a glass slipper is the family artifact. You do not have to even give me the slipper just tell me where you put it. Ok I do not know why but I think I trust you; I will put the slipper in the attic on top of the doorsill. Serena ran upstairs to the attic and tripped because she missed a step. She fell to the floor with a big thump behind her.
Suddenly she heard the voice of her husband Andrew saying please do not die I need you to survive. Serena opened her eyes, and sat up in the hospitable bed. What happened am I ok, am I dead, are you an angel? Asked Serena. Well you were going up to the attic when you hit your head on the doorsill and you fell down the stairs, and then you were in a coma for two days. Explained Andrew. Oh, well get me out of here I have to get something. No no no, said Andrew you have to keep you here to make sure you all right. Yelled Andrew after her. However, he was too late she could not hear him.
When she got home she dashed up the stairs too the attic, but this time she bent down when she got to the doorsill careful not to hit her head again. She looked on top of the doorsill to find that that the glass slipper was there. She slowly removed the box from on top of the doorsill and opened it. Next she heard her husband and children come in looking for her and saying her name. I am up in the attic said Serena. Happily, to find that the glass slipper was in the blue box, which now had been sitting there for, so long that it collected dust and cobwebs. Her family rushed upstairs to the attic and saw Serena holding something in her hands. Mommy what is that. Asked Madison. Yea mom what is it continued Alex. It is the family artifact it has been in our family for years and now its time for me to pass it on to the youngest female member of our family. Serena handed the blue box to Madison. And Madison hugged her mother and thanked her for giving it to her. Madison opened the box and saw the beautiful glass slipper inside which was still in mint condition. Serena had explained to her family about the woman she met while she was in a coma. In addition, they all lived happily ever after; until it was time to pass the glass slipper on again!!!!!!!!!!!
